85% Cotton 15% Silk
Silk should be washed as infrequently as possible, as it has natural self-cleaning properties and may only require washing a few times per year. To reduce the need for washing, garments can be aired out, steamed, hung in the bathroom during a shower, or refreshed with a delicate fabric spray. Stains should be treated immediately with spot cleaning. Hand washing is recommended, though dry cleaning is preferred to maintain the fabric’s original lustre, colour, and overall condition.
If machine washing is necessary, garments should be washed at a maximum of 30°C on a hand wash program, with a spin cycle not exceeding 800 revolutions per minute. A laundry bag should be used to protect the fabric and should not be filled more than halfway. Silk should be washed with other delicate items and turned inside out to reduce surface friction. Bleach and fabric softener should not be used, as they can damage the fabric.
An enzyme free, pH neutral detergent is recommended, as enzymes in standard detergents can break down protein based fibres like silk.
Garments should be hung to dry, as silk is not suitable for tumble drying.
