An Evening with Citizens of Humanity
A couple of weeks ago, we had the pleasure of gathering with friends old and new to preview the Citizens of Humanity fall 2026 collection at Noun Space. It was a beautiful evening spent in good company with the Citizens of Humanity team as they walked us through their collection and the ways they are committed to environmental sustainability within their supply chain.
Citizens of Humanity | The Background
Citizens of Humanity launched in 2003 in Los Angeles with the intention of designing and producing elevated womenswear with thoughtful details in every piece. Each item is conceived of, designed, and manufactured in their company-owned facility, ensuring attention to detail and compliance with high environmental and safety standards. This vertically integrated model reinforces accountability, ensuring the brand consistently meets its high standards. If they can’t produce in-house, they work closely with production partners who are like-minded in their approach and ethics in producing products that are unparalleled in look, fit, and feel.
The F/W 2026 Preview
This season, we are awestruck by the fabrication, fit, feel and wearability of the Citizens of Humanity collection. Our favourite standout pieces are the Japanese Hammered Silk capsule collection- ranging from cargo-inspired trousers, Brynn Trousers, Lace Trimmed Cami, blouses and Lace Trimmed Skirts that you can wear together or as separates. They are instantly wearable and timeless.
Along with lacey silks, Citizens of Humanity has released a beautiful capsule of vintage inspired velour crewneck sweatshirts and pants. The Brynn Drawstring Plush Velour Pant is available in a seasonal shade Cammello and Bandy Burgundy and well as a deep black - Notte. The pants are Relaxed and effortless and designed with a fluid wide-leg silhouette. Crafted from plush midweight velour, it offers an ultra-soft, cushioned feel with a smooth velvety finish and subtle sheen. The rich hues enhance the elongated shape with depth and softness, while the elastic waistband adds to the comfortable, laid-back fit. This is the perfect hybrid outfit that can move easily from day to evening.
The crewneck is also cut from the same midweight velour and is meant to be worn with the Brynn Drawstring Plush Velour Pant or on it's own with a pair of jeans. With a relaxed silhouette, ribbed cuffs and hem its a perfectly polished sweatshirt. The plush velour and deep hues instantly elevate the sweater.
The Denim Collection
As always, Citizens of Humanity produces the best women’s jeans (and this season is no exception!). Our favourite silhouettes this season are the Palma Straight Jean, the Winslow Low Rise Boyfriend, The Lyra Wide Leg, the Nora Trouser, and the Miro Relaxed Jean. All of the above styles offer various silhouettes in the same reliable, conscious, and beautiful compositions. What's more, everything in the Citizens of Humanity collection is created with the intention of wearing together—mixing and matching to create endless outfits that work seamlessly into your existing wardrobe.

How It's Made
High-quality fabrics sourced from all over the world, paired with inspiration drawn from vintage markets and global travels, result in impeccable designs with authentic fabrications and washes. Each pair of jeans passes through the hands of at least 40 skilled craftsmen who review the item before it ends up in yours. Not only does Citizens of Humanity source the finest fabrics and work with expert craftspeople, but their investment in research and design also qualifies them as industry leaders in reducing their global footprint. Some of these methods include laser technology, ecological stones, ozone wash machines, and recycled water systems.
One of the most engaging parts of the evening was learning about the partnership between Citizens of Humanity and French biotechnology company, Pili. Pili has developed Eco-Indigo by integrating industrial fermentation processes with green chemistry, resulting in high-performance colour ranges, thus moving away from fossil-based resources. Current dye production standards utilize fossil-based sources, which are non-renewable and toxic to the environment and people. Pili uses biomass - renewable, traceable non-food raw materials such as molasses and starch-based sugars derived from agricultural by-products to create their pigments and dyes. This method utilizes organic compounds without tapping into food or fossil resources and provides a solution to a reliance on fossil-based resources, thus reducing the carbon output.
All that is to say, Citizens of Humanity creates beautiful clothing meant to be lived in and cherished with peace of mind. We loved every moment of the evening learning about (and fawning over) each piece in the fall collection. The evening didn't end there and we soaked up every moment spent in such a gorgeously cozy atmosphere with great company, delicious small bites, local organic wine, great tunes and fresh seasonal flowers.
What made the evening so special was the genuine warmth and good vibes in the room - bringing together our partners and community to celebrate and share in the joy of elevated designs and commitment to shared values.
