&Daughter was founded in 2013 by Buffy Reid, whose family has worked in Irish and Scottish knitwear for generations. The brand's name reflects the passing of knowledge, craft, and tradition from one generation to the next—a legacy inspired by Reid's Irish grandmother, an accomplished knitter, and her father, who spent his career championing premium Donegal tweeds and Scottish knitwear.
