Ilda's Sheep is a family-run brand founded by Johannes and her father, José, building on over 40 years of artisan tanning and luxury fashion expertise. Their project was born from a simple belief: to restore value to often-neglected sheepskins by transforming them into modern, timeless, and sustainable accessories. Each piece is carefully handcrafted in their workshop in Portugal, honoring traditional craftsmanship passed down and refined over the years.
Ilda's Sheep works primarily with high quality Merino sheepskin sourced from France, Spain and Italy. The skins come from the food industry rather than animals raised specifically for their hides, giving otherwise discarded material a second life. Each piece is carefully selected by hand according to its thickness, softness and colour, as well as how it will be used, whether showcasing the wool or suede side. Every piece is thoughtfully optimized to minimize waste. The brand’s accessories are handcrafted in Portugal by artisans specializing in sheepskin cutting and sewing. This includes everything from mittens and bandanas to slippers, soles, bags and outerwear.
